A Clinical Study on the Therapeutic Effect of Thenothiola Na (Ronpect^(®)) in Chronic Respiratory Diseases.

Abstract

|
Therapeutic effect of Thenothiola Na (2-?-thenoylthio-propionylglycine Na, Ronpect®
a mucolytic agent, on respiratory symptoms was evaluated in 19 patients with respiratory diseases. With 810mg oral dose for 2 weeks, the respiratory symptoms and signs were remarkably improved (cough 89.5%, sputum 73.7%, dyspnea 68.4%, adventitious lung sounds 42.1%). There were significant improvements in FEV1, peak expiratory flow rate and" erythrocyte sedimentation rate after Thenothiola Na administration. And the changes in the peripheral blood counts and the serum aminotransferase levels were not clinically significant.
